The Arc Raiders "With A Trace" quest can be a little confusing as your quest objectives will update even if you're not necessarily in the right area. You might start searching for your objective, but it'll turn out that you're actually a few hundred meters away.
Just like "A First Foothold" and "Reduced To Rubble," this quest takes place in Blue Gate, which is full of strong raiders and Arc machines looking to take you down. Instead of wandering about the wrong area where you could potentially be hunted down, we've marked where you'll need to go.
Here's how to complete "With A Trace" in Arc Raiders.
"With A Trace" has two core components, both of which involve visiting wrecked Arc machines in Blue Gate, but finding them is the tricky part. If you're looking for either of the objectives at Barren Clearing and Adorned Wreckage, here's where you need to go.
The first task simply states "reach Barren Clearing," but this objective will complete even if you're a few hundred meters away, which is understandably confusing. The objective will tick off and give you the next objective: find signs of who brought down the Arc machines. You'd think that you're in the right area, but don't believe the quest tracker's lies! Rather than searching the immediate area, keep walking to the Barren Clearing landmark on the map.
The exact spot you're looking for is beneath the "ren" in "Barren" on the map. As you approach the fallen machine, you'll be given the prompt to investigate a limb strewn off to the side.
Once you've done that, your next objective will be to "inspect the Adorned Wreckage." You're forgiven for thinking the big chap nearby is the adorned wreckage, but nope: you instead want to head to the landmark specifically named Adorned Wreckage. This is a couple of hundred meters south-east of Barren Clearing, below Trapper's Glade.
Here, you'll find a computer terminal you must turn on, just off to the side. Interact with it and boom, quest complete.
